What do you care what other people think?

Today Is A Tennis Match

I’ve been on a roll this year - on average, I’ve been reading a book and a half every week.

When I order new books, I often find that they’re all connected in some way. Sometimes it’s because a source recommends multiple books at once, and I’ll just order them all. Other times I have a harder time explaining on how they’re so connected.

For example, I ordered Mindless Eating and The Hidden Persuaders - a book written in 1957 about behaviors around advertising and another is a 2006 book about the contemporary American food epidemic.

Keeping Tempo When Thinking & Speaking

Something I’ve struggled with is keeping a tempo when thinking and speaking.

I mean this both by keeping a pace that is not too fast or too slow, but also in some sort of synchrony with each other.

I’ve found three things to help become sharper at this, which might be obvious:

  • Meditating for 10 minutes a few days a week, ideally daily
  • Eating less, & drinking more water
  • Making a large, conscience effort to speak slower

When I figure out how to make a short daily workout consistent with my current routine (and and job I’m guessing that will help too.

Things To Remember:

  1. Don’t set goals, create systems.

  2. Keep communication clean and clear

  3. Excersize your mind and body daily.

  4. You are what you read, eat, & invest in

  5. Stay geniuinely interested in others

  6. Keep asking why

  7. Just do it, life is short

  8. Compounding interest
